Since no Smart is really built for speed, the fastest one you can buy right now tops out at 175 km/h (109 mph), which may not sound that impressive, but it definitely is for a car that is about as wide as it is long (and also fairly tall too).

TFL Car tested the $700 power box whose claims are that it releases 20 percent more power and torque from the Smart’s motor, as well as increasing the strength of the regenerative braking.

The smart is darn well capable of going motorway speeds easy to hit 120kph/75mph. The car will be able to get to and maintain 8085mph no worries. The Smart CAN go UP TO 96mph, however wind resistance, incline and other factors will determine the ability for max speed. The car is easy to change lanes and whip around.
