How much yarn you will use will depends on how long you make the the halter top and straps. One Skein each (315 yards) should be more than enough for multiple tops in this size.
If you’re making a small crop top, crochet around 120 chains. For a larger size, work closer to 150 chains.
Start by making a loop in your yarn and chaining 45 stitches (or about 35 cm) to make the bottom of your crop top. Once you have a chain, turn your work and start a double crochet (single in US terms) back along the chain until you reach the end. Repeat for another 3 rows. 4 double crochet rows in total.
These trendy crochet crop tops are easy to make, so they’re perfect for beginners. You’ll enjoy wearing your handmade crop top to summer festivals, the beach, and more. I’ve included crop top patterns for every style, so you’re sure to find the perfect pattern for you.
Worsted weight acrylic yarn is what I use and recommend for my amigurumi designs. That’s 100% acrylic yarn, marked as worsted weight, medium weight, or number 4. (Outside North America, it may also be called 10 ply or aran weight.)
However, there are plenty of accessories you can knit in this yardage and weight.
